The article provides evidence of the deterioration of the human rights situation in Uzbekistan in Shavkat Miriyoev’s second presidential term. Based on these observations, the author calls upon the European Union and the United Kingdom to warn Uzbekistan that its status as a beneficiary of the GSP regime, which provides third world countries with tariff-free access to their markets, may be suspended if the situation in this area does not improve.
